Sasaki to Pii-chan (Sasaki and Peeps)

Genres: Adventure, comedy, fantasy, (isekai).
Studio: SILVER LINK.
(Known for Masamune-kun's Revenge, Non Non Biyori, and The Misfit of Demon King Academy making this on their own but SILVER LINK being like J.P. Staff pumping out so many anime but difference is one mainly does it all alone while SILVER LINK collabs with other studios.)

Personal thoughts:
First out of 2 isekai this seasonal lineup we have that puts so many ideas out of the blue and cramped them in to make one big franchise.
Where's Sasaki and Peeps has a steady pace while The Outwardly Ability isekai is just too fast pace and just kills off every character the MC comes into contact with intent to kill with just gag humor crammed in.
About this series it's a back and fourth from another world (fantasy world) which has been done before but the major difference we have a normal character and mundane about him that doesn't become OP with what ever power while the dynamic is interacting a incarnated sage becoming a talking bird as a pet. (Nice idea 👍)

And with arrange of many characters but many of the female characters only got so much screen time and barely info to backstory to them other being there in the moment. My biggest grip is in the fantasy world some arcs seems rushed and situation seems resolved that should have been taken longer for the story to be brought out.

The animation was okay but the outro CGI was urg -____- The OP was nothing special but with a bopping soundtrack.

Love the ideas this has but the like everyone mention had promise but bad execution. And that cliffhanger WTF!!! (OxO) Still pretty nice but only a mere 7/10.

It's so unfocused with 47 different plots all going on and even Pii-chan never really gets the chance to be as cute as he should be. I love the OP song and the character design, but the show itself... I struggle to even give it a 5/10. :/

Totally agree with u.... I somehow liked the series and disliked it at the same time, many things made no sense whatsoever, yet somewhat intricate with so many factions in so many directions make those plot holes disappear quick.
I will mis Futari Shizuka, loved her Seiyuu.
ANd yes the ending was the worst ever forever ever the worst.... ugh

Sasaki And Peeps

For the good part, the concept of a middle-aged guy turned got Isekai power from the pet bird he bought was quite interesting. I thought it was going to be like another power fantasy where an ordinary turned OP and went Isekai but then here came a twist where there are already superhumans in the real world. I really like the idea of using both worlds to tell both sides of the story and not relegate the real world to only a place where the MC can flex his powers.

Too bad the show never used that to its potential and ended up half-baked everything. First, it showed that some supervillains abuse their powers for their good. That's cool and all but we barely know about them except "they exist and they do bad things" and Sasaki just happened to end up on the good guy side. The Isekai side is a bit better since there is some story to tell but they came in bits and pieces since the show spends half of the time in the real world. So, when you felt like we already had some interesting story on Isekai, it's already ended and the story shifted the focus to the real world. At least if they can make both sides more interconnected, it should be more interesting.

But that's still not as bad as the character departments. The show introduced tons of interesting side characters but none of them got flesh out. First, they introduced Hoshizaki who seems to be an important support character. But the most interesting development from her is when she reveals that she's underage. Then there's Elsa who's a real princess from another world but she serves no other purpose than being a damsel in distress. Shizuka got the most attention since she mainly monopolized the final arc but that's all she did.

However, none of the characters I mentioned got any worse treatment than the Next Door Girl. I'm not an LN reader but even I can pretty much guess that she has an interesting (and disturbing) backstory to tell. And what the show managed to do with her? Nothing. She was the first to be introduced and the first to be forgotten. She just sat there waiting for Sasaki to come home and we never got any explanation why. She was just there.

The production is average Silver Link quality - not bad and nothing to talk about also. The battle scenes are slow-paced with a weird upbeat song playing in the background. Talking about song, MADKID has never been my favorite band and they still can't change my mind. I feel like if I hear one of their songs, I already hear them all. They are that repetitive. I can't remember anything about the ED except some creepy CGIs.

This might be one of the most disappointing shows of this season. It started very interesting but ended up nowhere. I read many LN fans trashing this adaptation and I understand why. If this is what the director had in mind when he thought "Read the LN for a more complete experience", then it doesn't work; at least not for me. It's a 5.5/10 show overall.

It started promising by showing that there are already superhumans in the real world and this duo of the reincarnated sage bird and the middle aged man seemed unique and interesting. I also liked the animation and artstyle and I was expecting more of this show but I agree with you in the end, it was somehow mediocre, boring and disappointing. It's exactly as you said it. It ended up half-baked in everything and especially with the introductions of the rest characters that had potential but unfortunately no development. So it's a generous 6/10 from me too and I don't know if I would watch another season, if it comes out.

The news just came in and season 2 is confirmed. I'm conflicted about whether I should continue also lol
